Nature
Nature has always been a quiet teacher in my work. These pieces reflect my relationship with the natural world as something lived, observed, and remembered. From vast landscapes that challenged my sense of scale and perspective, to intimate studies of flowers, animals, and still life drawn from daily life.
Some works mark technical milestones: first original compositions, early experiments with palette knives, and discoveries in drawing where erasing became as important as mark-making. Others are more personal, shaped by memory, place, and affection; tributes to places I’ve traveled, animals I’ve cared for, and the rhythms of life in Sonoma County.
Together, these works form a grounding chapter in my practice. They are not just depictions of nature, but reflections of connection, patience, and belonging.
Land & Place
These works explore landscape as lived experience; places shaped by scale, challenge, and memory. They reflect moments of return and growth, where environment and personal history intersect.

Flora Studies
Focused observations of flowers and still life, these pieces mark early explorations in technique and perception. Through repetition, erasure, and restraint, they reflect the process of learning how to truly see.

Whimsy & Gentle Allegory
These works approach nature through play and symbolism, using animals and imagined moments to suggest connection, unity, and care. Light in tone, they carry quiet reflections on shared ground.

Nature as Home
Rooted in memory and daily life, these pieces reflect nature as something familiar and lived with; animals, objects, and traditions woven into a sense of place, labor, and belonging.

Trees & Tranquility
These works explore trees as places of shelter, memory, and imagination. Rooted in personal landscapes and quiet observation, they reflect a growing fascination with trees as both physical presence and emotional refuge.
